Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Haircut.info collects when you visit the site, how it is used, and your choices regarding that data.

1. Who we are

Haircut.info is a static content website publishing guides about haircuts and hair care. The site is operated by the Haircut.info editorial team. For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at hello@haircut.info.

2. Information we collect

Haircut.info does not require you to create an account, log in, or submit any personal information to read our content. We do not operate contact forms that collect or store submitted data on our servers.

However, like virtually all websites, we collect certain information automatically when you visit:

  • Usage data via Google Analytics (see section 4): pages viewed, time spent on pages, device type, approximate geographic location (country or city-level, not precise), browser type, and referring URL. This data is aggregated and anonymised — we cannot identify individual visitors from it.
  • Cookies placed by Google Analytics to distinguish between visitors and sessions. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information. See section 3 for details.

If you contact us directly by email, we will receive and store your email address and the content of your message for the purpose of responding. We do not add contact emails to any mailing list.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Haircut.info uses the following cookies:

  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, and related): These are set by the Google Analytics tracking script (gtag.js) to measure website traffic and usage. They expire after between 24 hours and 2 years depending on the cookie. They do not contain personal information.

We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, or any cookies beyond those set by Google Analytics.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Most modern browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from reading our content, but Google Analytics will not function, which means your visit will not be included in our traffic statistics.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (via the Google Tag Manager gtag.js library, ID G-CX4EGPHRX3) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data including page views, session duration, bounce rate, device category, operating system, browser, and approximate geographic location. IP anonymisation is enabled — your full IP address is not stored by Google Analytics.

The data collected through Google Analytics is processed by Google LLC, which may store it on servers outside your country of residence. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Amazon Associates and affiliate links

Haircut.info participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com. When you click an Amazon link on our site and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

When you click through to Amazon, Amazon's own privacy policy and cookie practices apply. Amazon may place cookies on your device for the purpose of tracking referrals. We do not receive or store any information about your Amazon purchases — only aggregate commission data.

Our affiliate relationship with Amazon does not influence our editorial content. We do not recommend specific products in exchange for commissions; our tool and product category guides are written editorially, and we link to Amazon search results rather than specific product listings.

6. Third-party links

Our guides occasionally link to external websites (for example, Google's Analytics opt-out tool or Amazon). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. When you leave Haircut.info, you are subject to the privacy policies of the destination site.

7. Data retention and sale

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data of any kind to third parties. The only personal data we hold is email correspondence sent to us voluntarily. We retain email correspondence for as long as it is relevant to an open matter, and we delete it when it is no longer needed.

Anonymised Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard data retention settings (26 months by default).

8. Children's privacy

Haircut.info is a general-audience content site. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at hello@haircut.info and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including rights to access, correct, or request deletion of data we hold. Since we hold very little personal data (only voluntary email correspondence), most of these rights are best exercised by simply contacting us at hello@haircut.info. For data held by Google Analytics, refer to Google's privacy controls.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
